How is the climate year round?

Guatemala's climate is the best. It is called the eternal spring country. We have on average a great climate year round. The dry season is from November until april and the wet season is from May to October. Our Lowest temperatures are in December and January ranging from 10C to 15C, and the Highest temperatures are in March to September ranging from 25C to 30C. Always remember to wear light clothes during the day and a warm coat for the nights. Even in the wet season the odds of having a sunny bright day are high (make sure you check the weather, for seasonal showers or thunderstorms caused by carribean hurricanes).

Is it safe to travel to Guatemala and tour in Guatemala?

Yes, Traveling in Guatemala is safe and like in every latinamerican country I recommend following safety guidelines, such as, no walking alone in late hours at night, do not use public transportation or taxi service, I recommend using private tour operators that excel in service to the client at accessible prices.

Which is the best month to get married in Guatemala?

I recommend the dry season (November to April). My favorite and most recommended month to get married in Guatemala is November, because it's when the dry season starts and everything is fresh and green as to the mountain sides and general vegetation, the sunsets in this season are amazing and the climate in general is fresh and cool. During this month Guatemala is busy with local and destination weddings so I recommend booking your most important vendors first so they can save your date. The days are shorter in this time of year, with sunsets at 5:45pm approximately. Getting married in the rainy season also has its advantages, like top venders availability, longer days sun sets at about 6:30pm approximately, just make sure you have a plan B for a rainy day.

What food and beverage recommendations should we follow?

Guatemalan gastronomy is very rich and varies from town to town. I recommend you try the typical dishes and the many ways we use corn in our meals, the avocado and beans (it is different from traditional foods, you should include these flavors in your travel experience). I recommend eating in restaurants, avoid eating street food. You can drink bottled water in restaurants and hotels, avoid drinking tap water or filtered water on the streets. In the top destinations you will find a variety of international restaurants, remember not to forget new, different and Guatemalan things on your visit, you will love it.

How long should we plan our trip with family and friends?

Attending a destination wedding in a country you have never visited before, is a unique way of getting to know a different culture and country such as Guatemala. Guatemala has many things to offer, making you want more. If the vacation time is short, I recommend a 4 day trip, and if you have time you can come as long as you want, so you can relax and explore many beautiful things in Guatemala. Never travel on the wedding day, for unexpected delays on airlines or traffic, you might miss out on attending the wedding on time.

How do you recommend doing tourism in Guatemala?

I recommend previously booking a private tour operator, it's the safest and most organized way you can enjoy tourism in Guatemala. We want to make sure you use your time in our country the most efficient and wise way. You can start tourism before the wedding, just make sure it's not too tiring and exhaustive for everyone, so that they can enjoy the wedding. I always recommend starting the tours after the wedding, so everyone is relaxed and enjoy the experience, without the pressures of the wedding.

What tourist places should I visit?

It all comes down to how many days you are on visit in Guatemala. The top places you should not miss are: Antigua, Atitlan and Peten. Ideally spend 2 days in each place, just make sure you smartly book your itinerary so you spend quality time in these places with family and friends, for these are the most magical sites in our country.

What tourist activities can I do in Antigua?

To explore the whole colonial city, you have to walk Antigua, it is a very small town, you can explore in one day, walking through its cobbled streets, sightseeing ruins devastated from past earthquakes, traditional churches with spanish inspired architecture and the general feeling of an old and ancient living culture viewing sites that simply take your breath away. You can visit coffee farm plantations near by and visit chocolate factories, to learn about the process of cacao made into chocolate surrounded by nature and different experiences from your home country. If you like adventure and mountain climbing I recommend climbing a Volcano, yes a Volcano! You can climb the Pacaya Volcano (near Guatemala City), an active lava gushing volcano, and eat melted marshmallows of its pits or you can climb a higher volcano called Acatenango Volcano (near antigua), where you will have sights you have never seen before.
